Located 570 km east of the capital, Conakry, on a paved highway, the Kouroussa permit areas encompass 1066 km² of open, subdued Birimian terrane. Birimian rocks host virtually all the gold mines in West Africa.

Cassidy's aggressive exploration program is focused on two goals:
  • Continue to build the gold resource at Kouroussa.
  • Identify additional mineralized zones that can contribute to the gold resource in the near-term.

Exploration Strategy Goals
  • Clearly demonstrate the potential of the project.
  • Continue to discover new zones where we can begin to delineate resources.
  • Continue to drill priority targets where we have a good chance of encountering potentially economic mineralization, with a combination of RC and diamond drilling.
  • Continue to add to our resource base.

Approach: Balance short-term requirements with the long-term project goals:
  • Develop an exploration plan and budget that clearly outlines our goals and a roadmap to achieve those goals.
  • Think in terms of dollar cost per ounce delineated. Money will be spent where the return is greatest.
  • Maintain flexibility at all times to optimize our success.

Effectively manage exploration dollars by directing resources into 4 main areas:
  • STAGE 1: Grassroots Exploration: 10%
  • STAGE 2: Identification of Priority Targets: 20%
  • STAGE 3: Exploration of Priority Targets: 30%
  • STAGE 4: Delineating Mineral Resources: 40%

These 4 stages of exploration form a continuum:
  • Geochem Anomaly
  • Discovery of the Mineralized Structure
  • Definition of the Structure
  • Delineation of a Potentially Mineable Resource
  • Defining a Mineable Reserve
  • Development and Production

STAGE 1: Grassroots Exploration
Grassroots exploration is necessary to fully assess the potential of Cassidy's exploration permits and prioritize areas for further work. It has the potential to identify priority targets with minimal investment. Grassroots exploration, including soil and termite mound geochemistry, has been successful in identifying new areas of potential mineralization.

STAGE 2: Identification of Priority Targets
Identifying priority targets involves upgrading geochemically anomalous areas or areas of artisanal workings with more detailed geochemistry, regolith mapping, structural interpretation (maps, photos), and shallow RC (or perhaps RAB) drilling.

STAGE 3: Exploration of Priority Targets
Exploring priority targets utilizes a mix of shallow RC (Kitbit), deeper RC and the occasional diamond drillhole. The time commitment for this stage is at least as great as the delineation stage but costs are somewhat lower.

STAGE 4: Delineating Mineral Resources
Delineating resources requires a mix of diamond and deep RC drilling and hence, requires a higher proportion of the budget.

General Information

Rainy Season
The West African rainy season, lasting from June through September makes travel and work difficult and costly, so exploration is customarily curtailed for this period.

Methodology and Quality Control
Quality control/quality assurance is closely monitored by RSG Global personnel.

Qualified Personnel
The exploration team in Guinea is headed by a Project Manager from Coffey Mining (formerly RSG Global), who is supported by Cassidy Gold Corporation's Qualified Person, Christopher J. Wild, P.Eng., V.P. Exploration. Overview

The Kouroussa Project encompasses exploration on seven permit areas totaling 1066 km². Exploration going forward must maintain the momentum by:
  • Continuing to expand the resource along the mineralized zones;
  • Identifying additional zones within identified anomalous areas (e.g. Sodyanfe); and
  • Identifying new anomalous or prospective areas to focus exploration.

The latter two goals will highlight the "blue sky" of the property.

SODYANFE ZONE
STAGE: Priority Target - Exploration (Stage 3)
Priority: High
Location: Kouroussa Permit Area. Approximately 3km NW of the Sanu Filanan Zone.
Description: The Sodyanfe Zones represent large, near-surface targets characterized by strongly anomalous soil geochemistry. Widespread artisanal workings and a strong soil geochemical anomaly make Sodyanfe a very high-priority target. Soil geochem data suggest a NW control to mineralization, parallel to Sanu Filanan and JJ Vein. This promising target is still 'open' and has not been explored at all at depth. Its aerial sample pattern suggests scope for considerable expansion.
Highlights: Sodyanfe Gold Zone Signifianct Gold Intercepts
KRC669 intersected 60m of 3.28 g/t Au 100m S of KRC380 (0.60 g/t Au over 66.0m). In another zone developing to the SE, KRC688 returned an interval of 24.0m assaying 0.83 g/t Au within a broad zone assaying 0.47 g/t Au over 116.0m. This mineralization is part of a broad, NW-trending zone of mineralization which includes mineralized intervals in KRC672, KRC673, KRC683, KRC684, and KRC685. Indicated strike length is 450m and remains open to the NW and SE. Three fences of shallow RC holes, completed in April and May 2005 highlighted the potential for multiple mineralized zones. Mineralized zones returned grades such as 0.60 g/t Au over 66.0m in KRC380, 2.51 g/t Au over 6.0m in KRC385, 2.42 g/t Au over 7.0m in KRC388, and 2.79 g/t Au over 6.0m in KRC393. Both KRC385 and KRC393 terminated in mineralization.
Soil Geochem: This gold-in-soil anomaly has been extensively sampled, returning an average grade of 0.49 g/t Au. Some grades run as high as 8.63 g/t Au.
Drill Plan: Sodyanfe Drill Plan
Drill Plan
Overview:
Drill Plan Overview
Drilling Update: RC drilling underway to further define the mineralization.
Artisanal Workings: The Sodyanfe gold zone has been extensively worked at surface by artisanal miners.
Next Steps: Drilling on the Sodyanfe targets to define mineralized zones discovered during the previous phase of drilling.

Drill Plan: Koekoe Creek Drill Plan;North Koekoe Drill Plan
Drill Plan
Overview:
Drill Plan Overview
Artisanal Workings: The full extent and antiquity of the artisanal mining in the Koekoe area has only recently been recognized, particularly with respect to the sheer quantities of material moved and area of cuirasse undermined. This has led to the conclusion that the Kouroussa concession has yielded substantial quantities of gold over a very long period.
